Maureen M. Writesman
Associate Director, Executive Education Programs

As the Associate Director, Maureen handles all of the logistics for Open Enrollment and Custom Programs. She plans and schedules all program dates and coordinates with faculty program materials and resources, in addition to handling invoicing and payments. Maureen has worked with the Executive Programs for more than nine years. She has a BS in Geography and Remote Sensing from Middle Tennessee State University. Maureen is also co-owner of Wilderness Foxes, which is an outdoor adventure company for women over 40.

As Director of the Executive Development Institute, Hermano is focused on nurturing relationships with key corporate clients, establishing new clients and managing the portfolio of Open Enrollment Programs. In addition, he is responsible for the financial and operational aspects of the Executive Education Programs. He holds an MBA degree from Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management and a Chemical Engineering degree from the Universidade Mackenzie (Sao Paulo, Brazil).
Tim Pierce

Before becoming Director of Owen Executive Education Programs, Tim worked for 12 years in sales and business development with EMC Corporation, Cisco Systems, Hewlett Packard and AutomSoft, an Irish software company based in Dublin. As part of Owen’s Executive Development Institute team, Tim is responsible for the business development of Custom Programs for organizations. Tim has developed relationships and programs for companies such as Nissan, Louisiana Pacific, AutoZone, Cisco Systems, FedEx Ground, HealthSouth, NASA, Community Health Systems, The Rogers Group and Video Gaming Technologies. Tim holds degrees from Boston College (BA) and New York University (MFA). Prior to beginning his sales career, Tim was an actor for seven years in New York City.

Professor Owens serves on the faculty at Vanderbilt University's Owen Graduate School of Management in the area of management, where he also directs the Executive Development Institute. Specializing in innovation and new product development, he is known as a dynamic speaker and is the recipient of numerous teaching awards. He provides consulting services for a wide range of clients around the world, and his work has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, London Guardian and San Jose Mercury News, as well as on NPR's Marketplace.
