Course Description:
provides a brief overview of the US healthcare system and a focused look at health care policy processes and implications. It includes an analysis of what policy is, how it is implemented, the effects of various policy decisions, and real life examples of policy in action. The course recognizes that health care services consume an ever-increasing percentage of the gross domestic product and thus have far ranging impact on the economy of the United States and thus the lives of all of us as individuals. The course, therefore, is designed for graduate students from a variety of disciplines who are interested in how policy affects the delivery of health services, the economic landscape and society in general.
