Leadership In Action
MGT 545
Course Description:
Leadership In Action, or LIA, is a year-long, project-based course focused on personal leadership development. LIA was expressly designed to offer specific leadership skill development not otherwise offered at business schools. Through the course, students will have a unique opportunity to practice accountability, visioning, managing and developing others as well as other idiosyncratic skill development. Participants will be responsible for sourcing a project, visioning the sponsoring corporation?s needs via interaction with executive leadership to determine scope and value, building and managing a project team, and executing the project to completion. To ensure the students learning and provide support along the way, they will also participate in a peer group process that focuses on group problem solving and feedback and is modeled after and facilitated by the world?s largest CEO member organization, Vistage International. Additionally, they will have a weekend military leadership immersion experience, workshops, and development reviews as well as 360 degree feedback sessions. Co-directed by Neta Moye and Melinda Allen.
