The Women's Business Association hosted a lunch with Erika Bogar King. Erika is a 1999 Owen graduate who works for Deloitte. She spent several years as a consultant and is currently the National Talent Delivery Leader for Consulting. She is also the wife of a fellow Owen graduate and the mother of two young sons. Erika spoke about how to best manage career and family. She suggested that studens understand that there will be times in their lives when either work or family take precendence and to be flexible. She also recommended being clear with employers when requesting time off, a change in work hours, or a less demanding role and carefully outline how the change can help the business. When taking time off, Erika also recommended keeping in touch with collegues and changes in the industry in order to be fully productive once returning to work.
