Real Estate Case Competition

Owen students won fourth in the National Real Estate Challenge held at the University of Texas at Austin. The case was provided by Goldman Sachs and focused on a business plan that included the purchase of a Central American-incorporated company, demolition of the hotel, and the construction of a two-tower luxury condominium development. The Owen team was made up of first-year students Doug Archibald and Stephen Songy and second-year students Will Eckstein, Shelby Pool, Ryan Seibels and Matt Treble. The University of Texas at Austin won first in the competition followed by the University of Pennsylvania and Yale. Other teams competing included the University of California at Berkeley, Chicago, Columbia, Cornell, Virginia, Duke, Harvard, Northwestern, Michigan, MIT, NYU, Stanford, UCLA, North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Southern California and Wisconsin.
