How to connect to the Vanderbilt Healthcare Club Calendar of Events If you would like to stay informed about the goings-on in the Vanderbilt Healthcare Club, please visit the calendar section of our website, located at
http://owen.vanderbilt.edu/studentclubs/academic/healthcare/events/index.cfm.
For those wanting to integrate our calendar into their personal calendars, we offer the following options:
1. Microsoft Outlook 2007 Microsoft Office 2007 allows users to subscribe to Internet Calendars. Please note that Internet Calendars are
not supported by previous versions of MS Outlook, including MS Outlook 2003.
In order to subscribe to the VHCC calendar through MS Outlook 2007:
- Select Tools | Account Settings
- In the dialog box that appears, select the “Internet Calendars” tab
- Select “New”
- In the dialog, paste the following URL:
- http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/owen.hcc@gmail.com/public/basic.ics
- Select “OK”
- Activate the Navigation Pane by selecting “View | Navigation Pane | Normal”
- Verify that the “Owen HCC Calendar” is checked
- In the resulting side-by-side calendar view, on the tab marked “Owen HCC”, click on the small left arrow to merge the two calendars.
- If you would like to turn off the VHCC calendar, perform the previous 2 steps in reverse.
2. Google Calendar If you keep your calendar on Google Calendar, you can subscribe to the VHCC calendar directly through that service. To do so:
- Navigate to your Google Calendar
- Unhide the “Calendar” drop-down by clicking on the triangle next to it.
- Next to “Other Calendars”, click on the “+” sign.
- In the field marked “Search Criteria,” type “Owen Graduate School of Management”
- Find the result marked “Healthcare Club Owen Graduate School of Management” and select the button marked “Add Calendar.”
- To show or hide the VHCC calendar, while looking at your calendar, click on the checkbox next to the calendar name on the left.
3. Via RSS reader You can also receive VHCC calendar updates through your favorite RSS news reader. Simply subscribe to the following XML feed:
