
Brad Cayer
President
Brad grew up in Derry, New Hampshire, and earned his undergraduate degree is in Hospitality Management from the University of New Hampshire (Whittemore). After college, he worked for a resort under development in Palmyra, Maine. Once promoted to General Manager, Brad worked to restructure the strategic focus of the resort for long term sustainability. Through his volunteer work and personal experiences with the healthcare industry, he chose to redevelop his career and talents towards the healthcare industry. It is his long term goal to work with troubled healthcare companies that need to develop new management solutions. Brad is working towards his Healthcare MBA with concentrations in Operations and Strategy, and is a member of Leadership Health Care, the Owen Operations Club, and the Owen Consulting Club.

Paul Asper
Executive Vice President
Paul is originally from Omaha, NE, though he has called Nashville home for over five years now. He received an undergraduate business degree - with concentrations in finance and economics - from Middle Tennessee State University, after which he worked for Spheris Operations as a senior financial analyst. While working for the $200 million provider of outsourced medical transcription services and technology solutions, Paul fell in love with the complexity and the fundamental challenges confronting the healthcare space; this was a major, motivating factor in his decision to return to school full-time, and to choose the Healthcare MBA Program at Owen. In addition to the healthcare specialization, Paul is working on concentrations in Finance, Accounting, and Strategy. He was recently re-elected to serve another term as class representative on the Owen Honor Council, and he is an active member in the Vanderbilt Entrepreneurship Association, the Owen Finance Club, and Leadership Health Care.

Trevor Hsu
Vice President, Marketing
Trevor received his undergraduate degree from Penn State University, majoring in Management Science & Information Systems. Upon graduation, he spent time working on a number of project management and systems analysis projects at IBM BCS, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Accenture. His direct project experience with Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services and Texas Medicaid led him to pursue the Health Care specialization at Owen, with a general management concentration.

Burch Wood
Vice President, Finance and Operations
Burch is originally from Newport in East Tennessee, though he has been in Nashville for nearly 15 years. He received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University with majors in Chemistry and Philosophy and a minor in Psychology. After his undergraduate work, he attended two years of graduate school in Philosophy, also at Vanderbilt, with his Area of Specialization in Medical Ethics. While attending graduate school, Burch obtained a part-time job as a PC Tech at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage (an HCA facility). After leaving graduate school, Burch began working full-time at HCA, eventually rising to become a Senior Systems Administrator for the TriStar Division in Nashville. At HCA he managed the IT staffs of several different hospitals in Nashville, implemented systems for the new Skyline Medical Center, and led the IT team in charge of building out Stonecrest Medical Center. After over seven years at HCA, Burch is now pursuing a Healthcare MBA at Owen with a concentration in Operations. Burch believes hospitals to be interesting and complex, and he plans to become a hospital administrator. He currently TAs for the new Masters of Management in Healthcare program. Burch is also very involved in Owen Student Government as the Executive Vice President of OSGA.

Rita Chang
Vice President, Informatics
Rita is originally from Taiwan but grew up in Houston, Texas. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin – McCombs School of Business in Management Information Systems. Prior to coming to Owen for her MBA, Rita worked as a consultant for Cerner Corporation and as an IT manager for The Hospital at Westlake in Austin, TX. At Owen, Rita is pursuing the Health Care specialization with concentrations in operations and strategy. Rita is also a member of the Women Business Association, secretary of the Cork and Barrel club, and co-chair of the panel committee in Health Care Business Alliance.
