The Advocate Program
Introduction
The Owen Health Care Advocate Program is a networking infrastructure built, developed, and monitored by the Board of Directors of the Vanderbilt Healthcare Alumni Association. The program’s key objective is to support the students of the Owen Health Care MBA Program by providing a network of resources to advise students on various career options and employment opportunities within the Health Care industry. The program consists mainly of alumni who have committed to give advice and networking assistance to at least one student per year.
How it works
As students submit their employment and internship interests to the Career Management Center and Faculty, the CMC and Faculty match the student with a representative from the Advocate Program (the “Advocate”). The student will coordinate with the Advocate to ask questions, receive advice, and gain assistance with networking options for their specific healthcare interests.
The Owen Health Care Advocate Program is meant to supplement the activities and capabilities of the Owen Career Management Center by providing the crucial “next steps” in the placement process. The program will insure that all Health Care MBA students receive the assistance of at least one Advocate.
How do I get involved?
